This is just a simple test shot with the Fuji X-T3 and the kit 15-45f/3.5-5.6. I also use these vlogs to practice different color grades, so with this one, I wanted it to feel more film like. I have always loved the “film” look in cinema, so I decided to try and replicate the feel I get when watching something actually shot on film.
I know that there is more to the film look than the actual stock, but for this video, I am more focused on the actual look and texture of the video.
So this also turns into a vlog. I start off the vlog by saying that when I went and visited the Acropolis, they did not allow me to take my microphone in. They took it from me and told me I can get it back when I am leaving.
I am assuming that it was so that people cannot record their voice and make a video of them talking while they are up there? I am not sure, but I did not mind because I had no intention of capturing audio while I was up there.
We ended up seeing the Acropolis on a private tour, so the time that we did see the Acropolis was not optimal for filming, along with that I did not have all the time I wanted. I also did not mind this because I wanted to see what I can create with the limitations that I had. I have found that I am more creative when I am limited because I need to work around different things and do the best that I can do. It almost like a puzzle for me.
One thought that I bring up is that did I actually enjoy the Acropolis while I was filming? I was listening to the guide here and there, but I was constantly looking for different shots and angles that I can get. So on one hand, I did not get the full history of what the Acropolis is, but on the other hand, I am looking at the Acropolis in more detail that most people.
I think that a thought like that does not matter and anyone should spend their time how they like it. It does not matter what other people (society) think how someone should spend their time. Those other people need to just mind their own business.
By the end of the video, I actually vlog of the iphone at night. The reason is because carrying around my large camera was getting annoying, so I wanted something smaller. I did enjoy my little iphone setup, so I decided to vlog the next day which was our trip to Naxos with the iphone.
